I'm so happy Adam is doing great! Hopefully he'll make his field trip soon!
And yes, it takes a while to return to "normal".

Thanks for the update. As others have said it can take months for the protein to go away completely after birth.

I'm so glad you posted an update about Adam. I've been wondering how he is doing. I hope he gets to go on the field trip soon!! :)

As for protein, anything under 150 is considered normal when you're not pregnant.

I am so happy to hear that Adam may be taking his Field Trip!! I was thinking about you & Adam as I made my journey to Dallas this weekend from Houston for the Promise Walk. I am happy to see that you both are doing well.

IMO and from what I have learned it can take up to 6 months for your kidneys to recover from preeclampsia. It took 6 months for my bloodwork and creatinine levels to get back into normal range. At 3 months pp I was no longer spilling protein. I asked Caryn and some others here and I am sure she will chime in. It takes our bodies sometimes quite awhile to heal from PE. I felt like total crap until about 3 months pp.

Happy Mother's Day!!! You and Adam are continually in my prayers...

I did a 24 hour urine right before TTC in 2008 (two years and some after my PE pregnancy) and at that time it my result was 105, since it was under 150 it was considered normal.

POST PARTUM ISSUES

Postby healinghands71 » Sun May 09, 2010 02:35 pm

FIRST OFF, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL. I AM HOPING EVERYONE IS FINE AND WELL. OUR LITTLE ADAM WAS 9 WEEKS OLD YESTERDAY AND I AM HOPING NEXT WEEK WILL BE THE FIELD TRIP(I WAS TOLD NEVER SAY "GOING HOME" BUT FIELD TRIP LOL) WHAT AN AMAZING LITTLE MAN TO BE TOLD WE MAY NOT MAKE THE DELIVERY TO A 10% CHANCE OF SURVIVAL. HYDROPS TAKES 50% OF BABIES, BUT WHEN WE GOT OFF THE HELICOPTER FOR EMERGENT DELIVERY THEY WERE NOT EXPECTING HIM TO MAKE IT. SURE ENOUGH HE PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT.

9 WEEKS IN THE NICU SEEMS LIKE AN ETERNITY. AS FOR ME, MY PROTEIN CAME DOWN FROM 4 WEEKS PP AT 178 AND NOW I AM AT THE 150 MARK SO I JUST WANT TO KNOW, (THANKFULLY IT IS GOING DOWN) BUT WHERE SHOULD IT BE? I AM 9 WEEKS AND AM DOING ANOTHER 24 TOMORROW. JUST WANT TO KNOW THAT 150 IS THE CUT OFF FRO PREGNANCY BUT I AM NOT PREGNANT SO WHERE SHOULD IT BE? NEVER HAD PROTEIN ISSUES BEFORE PREGNANCY BUT AT 17 WEEKS I STARTED AT THE 250 MARKER. I HAD 3 PREVIOUS PREGNANCIES WITHOUT THESE ISSUES SO GLAD IT IS GOING DOWN AND BP IS STILL WORKING ITSELF OUT. I AM ON 100 MG LABETALOL BID.. HOPE TO GET OFF THAT SOON!!

JSUT WONDER IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME ABOUT PP PROTEIN. SHOULD I NOT HAVE ANY AND WHEN SHOULD I CONSIDER SEEING A SPECIALIST AFTER HOW LONG OF SPILLING PPARTUMLY.?? THANKS AND THINKING OF YOU ALL !
