There's some older evidence suggesting that fish oils will raise risk of PE -- and some older mixed data on omega-3s. Since there are studies running both ways, and since most researchers have moved away from the idea that there even *could* be a single-molecule deficiency in this problem, at the moment I think it's only scripped by docs who ascribe to the "can't hurt, might help" view.

Such a view worries me; OBs said the same sort of thing before the big antioxidant trials, and it turned out that they *could* hurt. So as usual I'm gonna say: carefully run this past your docs. :)

I was on a prescription prenatal that had DHA and folate in it. It didn't do much to hold off PE for me. :(

I took DHA & folic acid in my 2nd pregnancy and although I didn't quite make it to term, I didn't get PE.

I was on it my first pregnancy and developed PE. I am currently on a prenatal called PreQue 10. It has CoQ10 and Lycopene. It also has DHA in it. My doctor thought that it may or may not help prevent PE from reoccuring, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. My husband looked up some of the research on it and said there was some evidence that CoQ10 could help. It's expensive ($50 month) for us, even with insurance, but worth a try, in my opinion. Anybody else on this?

It was in my prenatal when I got HELLP.
