Jean, we started by going to a high-risk doctor in Pittsburgh. Chrissy was put on a daily aspirin along with her prenatals. We have more frequent appontments and more sonograms checking for growth, etc.

I believe going to a high risk doctor and the baby aspirin made a big difference.

I'm on loveox, LDA, and calcium. I was kind of conflicted about the lovenox but I'm really glad I'm on it, I haven't had any issues with it.

Thanks everyone. I guess since ours was so early we are in a group of our own.

What did you do different the second time around for each of you?

For me it is going to be LDA, Mag Ox, Vitamin D and Calcium.

I had and lost my baby girl at 23 weeks. I got pg again about 6 months later and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 28 weeks and 5 days. Definitely not ideal pg again but she is now 16 months and is doing wonderful and very healthy.

The second time around, my peri was my OB and I was on procardia and LDA. They watched me like a hawk with either weekly or every other week appointments. If it weren't for my peri, I don't think I would have had a fortunate outcome again.

I know it is not 23 weeks but I want to offer you some encouragement. My wife had our daughter at 28 weeks 5 days. We had Emma for 5 months before she passed away in Jan 2008.

This summer my wife made 39 weeks. Our son, Wyatt, is almost 5 months old and doing well.

Hello, Im glad you posted this. I too have been wondering the same thing. I made it to 23 plus 2 days in June and my Fiance and I are really hoping to have another child very soon. we are scared of it happening very early again. Our many Drs. are all comfortable with me getting to 32 plues weeks this time around. I will be on extra folic acid, prenatal pills. and LDA as well as Vit. D.

I'm not far enough along to answer for myself, but I wanted to share that tonight there was a girl at our infant loss support group who lost her first child at 19 weeks from pre-e and HELLP. Her next pregnancy she made it to 34 weeks!

I'm not sure what they did differently the next pregnancy, most likely blood thinners, I wish I had gotten the chance to talk to her after but she left right when it ended.

Anybody have a baby 23 weeks or earlier???

Anybody deliver 23 weeks or earlier and have a subsequent pregnancy? How far along did you get?
