List symptoms & complications PRE - preeclampsia ...

These are mine :
- Vitamin D level low @ 9
- Eyelids swollen a little bit
- Swollen wrists said to be pregnancy induced carpal tunnel
- Feet & ankles swollen huge within a week esp. Ankle area
- Ringing in left ear
- No wt. Gain ... 24 wks. Gestation ... IUGR, Low Amniotic Fluid
- The day before I ended up in the hospital I felt like I couldn't breathe, I eventually took a nap and over looked it. I SHOULD have went straight to the ER then ....
- Extreme headache mainly in the front part of my head, felt like someone hit me with a bat on my forehead area ...
- Nausea & Vomiting
- My 1st sonogram showed everything was normal 13 wks. Gestation ... So the next 3 months things changed drastically ???


Would be interesting to hear all your early symptoms ...

I have:
elevated BP
proteinuria
spotty vision at times,
twitching in my eyes
head aches
rapid heart beat
swelling
and right mid back pain.

Sage1, some of your symptoms sound worrisome to me, especially the nausea, vomiting and the swelling in your face (eyelids) and wrists. I had both too and they told me at first, carpal tunnel, but it was in fact related to PE.

Are you being seen by an MFM? Have any labs been drawn, and has a 24 urine been ordered recently? Did your doctors tell you when to call them and ask to be seen?

The swollen eyelids alone are a red flag to me. I had that and a whole host of other symptoms. My eyelids were so swollen fluid came out of them. I think you need to possibly go to the ER. Your symptoms are reminiscent of what I had go on last year. Keep us posted.

O yes sorry for the mis - understanding those were my symptoms before I got severe pre e @ 24 weeks ....


I'm now on my 2 nd pregnancy I'm a lil over 26 weeks along and thank God we are doing good !!

My PE developed began developing around 33 weeks. I believe because that is when I noticed more swelling on my body and really noticeable in my face.
sudden elevation in bp
I had carpel tunnel in one arm probably from the swelling.
Had testing done and protein was 2000 and liver enzymes were slightly evelavated and platlets were probably lower then normal at 130, but not concerning to the Dr's at 130.
I should mention that I felt physically great when I had PE, but had a bad feeling that something wasn't right and that is what made me go have my bp checked at walgreens. That led me to go to the hospital and then delivered 4 days later.

Started at 33wks with just more swelling than I'd had in my previous pgcies but nothing to worry about.
Could see stars a lot of the time but didn't think anything of it.
Mild headache but nothing that made me worry
Couldn't lie down because of such uncomfortable reflux....

Saw mw for routine check at 35wks (hadn't been seen since 28wks I think). Protein was high, bp high. Admitted the same day, bp went to 180/120 and I was immediately taken to delivery and induced. Less than 12hrs after seeing the mw.

My BP rose very early (unmasked chronic). It was stable through to 32-33 weeks, then started slowly rising. I felt fine, though.

-High AFP for second trimester screening
-BP rose starting from pretty low to high normal around 24 weeks
-sudden weight (+11lbs) gain after gaining hardly any weight the entire pregnancy
-swollen nose and eyes overnight
-swollen legs and feet
-by 28 weeks BP was no bueno
-high protein levels
-iugr in baby
-low amniotic fluid

Here are the symptoms I had:
-5-6 weeks pregnant bleeding
-Very high hcg level at 5-6 weeks pregnant
-Was gaining weight rapidly (2.2lbs per week) (gained about 40lbs before I devlivered at 21 weeks and I had a normal BMI before pregnancy)
-Very swollen legs and feet; couldn't fit into some shoes
-Under my eyes swelled up but only one night and it went away
-Horrible chest pain that would wake me up in the middle of the night. Tylenol allowed me to sleep but I would be crying until it kicked in so for a good half an hour to forty five minutes
-19 week ultrasound showed that the baby was measuring two weeks behind. The technician said I must have my date wrong and switched my due date. I knew I wasn't wrong since I had monitored everything and was trying to conceive.
