matthew was born on day 1 of week 34. he was very healthy right from the start. we spent 27 days in the special care nursery. he was out of the isolette after 4 days and we were there only because of feeding issues. he was a very passive baby and didn't roll over or try to hold up his head until 6 months. he is now 14 months old, 26 lbs and he is running all over the place. he talks to himself, reads to himself and loves to dance to anything, commercial music, rock and roll, country, me singing to him...it's cute to watch him stop playing, run up to the tv and dance while james earl jones sells the benefits of verizon.

good luck with the rest of your pregnancy...only a couple weeks to go:)

My daughter was born at 33 5/7 weeks. She weighed 4 lbs, 9 oz and was in the NICU for 9 days. I received steroid shots for two days prior to being induced and therefore, she did not have to be on a ventilator. She did have jaundice and had to be under the bili lights for a few days. She is now a normal, crazy, independent two year old! I hope all goes well April and as each day passes your baby will get bigger and stronger!

I had my son at 32 wks 4 days and he weighed 3 lbs 12 ounces and was 16 3/4 inches long. He was in the nicu exactly 14 days, and was only on a ventilator for a few hours after he was born. No blood transfusions or anything like that. The only other side effect he had was his muscle tone was really high and he never learned to roll over, so he had to go to physical therapy. But other than that he is a happy and healhty 26 month old!

32-34wkers out there?

Postby april » Tue Jan 16, 637342 8:50 pm

I posted a long post on how I am doing in the pregnant again section, so I'm not going to post it again here(to much to type). But, I was wondering if any of you have any experience delivering a 32-34wker, and how did they do did they need the ventalator, any blood transfutions, how long were they in the hospital, etc?
