Hi Leti!! I would definitely meet with a peri. Have you been tested for any underlying disorders? It almost sounds like you might have a blood clotting disorder. (Not to scare you. I just think you should definitely check it out.) Don't give up on your dreams of having a baby. I believe with the right treatment, just about anything is possible.

Hi Leti,

I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Along with the others, I agree that you should find a high-risk OB that will help answer all of your questions and who you feel very comfortable with, someone who will work with you for a healthy successful pregnancy. There's no better time than the present, especially if you would like to get pregnant again. And like Julie said, find 1st, 2nd, or 3rd opinions if that's what it takes for you to find one that you really like and feel confident in.

I wish you the very best...

I lost my baby girl at 26.5 weeks, me and my husband have decide that we are going to adopt instead of trying again, Preeclampsia is just alittle to scary for me. I agree with the other ladies I would recommend finding a good peri doc.

Welcome to the forum. First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel. I also got pe with my first pregnancy at 23wks and had to deliver, my baby did not make it either. It was just to early. But, I felt like I had to try atleast one more time, and now I am pregnant again and in my 32wk. If I were you I would talk to a peri(a high risk Dr.) and see what he has to say about your situation, and what he would recomend.

I am so sorry for your loss... I loss my third baby due to Pre eclampia and gave birth to a healthy little boy two months shy on my 37th birthday. I would as others have suggested seeing a Peri first off for a pre concept appt. To discuss medical care and have a care plan. It's so important to feel comfortable with the doctor as you will be seeing them A LOT...

Good luck to you.. My prayers are with you for peace and comfort...

I agree with the other gals - find yourself a peri who will check you out good and see if they can't find some answers for you and then go from there. Good luck. I too am so sorry for your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I too lost my first precious baby to this horrible disease. He was delivered in 2003 at 26 weeks.

I would absolutely suggest meeting with a peri for a preconception consult. Meet with as many as you need before you find someone you are comfortable with. My husband and I met with three different high-risk doctors before we found the one that would carry us through our second pregnancy. A second, third, etc. opinion can make the difference.

Here are a couple of websites that you can use to search for high risks in your area:
www.nasshp.org (specialize in hypertension in pregnancy)
www.smfm.org (general high risk)
I saw in your profile that you are in Southern CA, there are several doctors from this area listed on those websites. I am not too far from you, if you ever need to talk please, get in touch with me. I will send you an email with my contact information right now. I know how lonely this time can be.

Again, I am so sorry.

Welcome Leti,
I am so very sorry to read of your loss ~ I truly know what you are going through having lost Tyler at 26 wks. I was also told, back in 1995, that I could get pregnant again ~ but when I moved to CT, my new OB suggested I never try..I went on to have my tubes tied.

I'm trying to understand your post, did you have PE just the one time and 3 m/c prior to that?

I am 35 1/2 and just had my tubes untied, I have not been pregnant since 1995 ~ well, I got pregnant in January 05 and had a m/c ten days later. We are now trying again. I went to a new OB and also to a perinatologist who did a lot of blood tests to see if I had any clotting disorders. I know it is a personal choice, knowing how much I want just one baby, I would go see a new OB and a peri who is behind your decision, not telling you what they think. Find an OB who supports women like us and can recommend a good peri.

If you do a search here you will find threads for questions to ask your peri. Don't give up hon, I'm right there with you. Also, check into the state link here on the foundation..there are some great CA women on board.

If you ever need to chat, just email....

Where to seek for med help after PE at 25 weeks

Postby leticia soohoo » Fri Feb 09, 637342 1:20 am

Hi all,

I was 25w pregnant when PE developed. I had to have an emergency c-section and delivered the baby. My baby did not survive.

I went for my OB's post-op visit yesterday and she told me that I should not get pregnant again because of my history. I had 3 miscarriages (all at around 8 weeks) from year 2002 - 2004, and my last pregnancy lasted 25 weeks until I developed pre-eclampsia and I almost died from it.

I am 38 years old. I feel so lost and helpless. I want to get ready to get pregnant again and have a healthy baby. Please let me know if you have any expert advice for me. Who should I go to now? A perinatologist for a pre-pregnancy consultation? How soon should I go see the specialist?

Thank you very much for your help.
