Sam,
If I wasn't able to have Tyler buried with my grandmother, I may have had him cremated at well - even though I'm a Catholic and so was he. It is not easy when you deal with the death of a child - you made the right choice for you and dh. Sharing Alexander with your dh's favorite spot is actually quite sweet and I know many times I forget about the husband (maybe because I'm divorced from Tyler's dad) but it must help your dh as well, though painful at the same time. Are you saving some of Alexander for yourself? As in to place in a charm/necklace, etc?

Sending supporting thoughts for you during this week- I hope you can find some peace during your trip.

I know that this is going to be a very hard experience for you both. However, Alexander is going to become one with a very special place of huge significance for your family. Even when you are a very old lady, just traveling to this cabin is going to bring you closer to him... you'll be consecrating this particular spot forever. I haven't been in your shoes, so I don't know this for sure, but I think that I'd always feel closer to someone so dearly loved, when they are in their spot, forever and always. It would comfort me to know that by going there, I'd be that little bit closer to them. Ultimately, we do part from our children, and while it is so very wrong that you've had to do this, maybe finding a spiritual home for Alexander's ashes, and for your deepest feelings for him, may be a precious anchor for your future life.

Hugs for now, and prayers for later,
[:X]

I will hold you tightly in my heart during this time. You are a brave, strong woman... and I just know how proud Alexander is of you.

Wishing you peace...

Hugs,
Suz
