Fiona,

That is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read. You and your precious Nate are in my thoughts and prayers today. Sue's note above says it all. Your kindness and compassion have touched so many lives, including mine, and I am thankful for that. God Bless You.

Happy Birthday Nathaniel! You are still a baby in memory but you are now nine years old in your mother's eyes and the picture of perfect health in Heaven. It is with somber rememberance that we recognize you are not here with her today and yet it is with great friendship and sisterhood that we know how much you are loved. You serve a special purpose beloved son as you are her driving force to help so many other women overcome their own devastating losses and move on with the knowledge that someone else is out there and cares. You were chosen early to go to a place where the rest of us are "faithfully" striving to achieve. Surround your mother in love this weekend as I am sure she is missing your embrace.

Nathaniel Preston Charity - Nate
August 12 - 14, 1997.

A Cradle Song
by William Blake

Sweet dreams form a shade,
O'er my lovely infants head.
Sweet dreams of pleasant streams,
By happy silent moony beams

Sweet sleep with soft down,
Weave thy brows an infant crown,
Sweet sleep Angel mild,
Hover o'er my happy child.

Sweet smiles in the night,
Hover o'er my delight.
Sweet smiles Mothers smiles
All the livelong night beguiles.

Sleep sleep happy child
All creation slept and smil'd.
Sleep, sleep, happy sleep,
While o'er thee thy mother weep

Sweet babe in thy face,
Holy image I can trace.
Sweet babe once like thee,
Thy maker lay and wept for me

Wept for me for thee for all,
When he was an infant small,
Thou his image ever see,
Heavenly face that smiles on thee.

Smiles on thee on me on all,
Who became an infant small,
Infant smiles are his own smiles,
Heaven & earth to peace beguiles.
