Oh, and I just realized that I have a knitting pattern I use for little tiny booties that knit up in a snap if anyone is interested in them. I made booties of all different sizes in anticipation of Malcolm, and when he arrived at 6 1/2 pounds, I donated the tiny ones to our hospital NICU. These booties are really easy if you have basic beginner knitting skills. They knit on two needles, and you can do a pair in about an hour once you have the hang of it. Email me anyone if you'd like the pattern.

Here are the first two I did on the loom. I gave these to a lady at work, whose twin grand-daughters were just born at 32 weeks.

thanks rosemary, this has all motivated me to go out and buy a new printer today (old one broke) so I can print off some of these patterns.

I am a knitter krafter junkie. All of my son's friends LOVE the "beanies" hat I can whip up for them.

I'll have to give the smallest loom a try and get some baby yarn.

These are great patterns as I have used some of them myself for the work I do with the local hospitals.

These are some of the sites that I have used for sizes & patterns:

Hopefully this helps a bit!

Hi Barbara...the blankets that I did were anywhere from 12" x 12", 18" x 18" and 24" x 24". Most of mine were simple...just either single or double crochet. I'll forward you some of the information that I found about size recommendations.

I have a question about the blankets that were made. I am about to begin to make my first blanket and couldn't find a pattern for a smaller preemie crochet afghan. I am wondering if I should just go ahead and make this larger one or is there a general size recommendation anyone could give me. I googled preemie afghan and they are much smaller so maybe I'll just follow one of those?

Nicole...I have always wondered about those machines. The fact that you can turn out a hat in an hour is really neat. It usually takes me a few hours just to knit a tiny hat. I need to check the machine out! Thanks for the tip!
