My daughter has lost two stillborn birhts. She ultimately developed a severe case of preeclampsia both times, with minor complications. The following is a letter from them to their parents (with grandmas help). These are two wonderful young people who are not giving up yet.
Patience Darlene Fluegel
born November 13, 2003 full term
4lbs 13oz
cause: rupture in placenta - cord suffocation
Dawson Ray Fluegel
born October 20, 2005 32weeks
3lbs 1.2oz
cause: placental abruption
Mommy, Daddy,
We are here, Patience and I.
We are together. Patience has taken my hand and we are good.
My sister is wonderful, no damage I see.
She said for now she will take care of me.
This place is beautiful, the air so clean..
Patience says here, no one is mean.
She took my hand on that day you know.
Don't worry bout us, so sorry we had to go.
But when our Father calls, we have no choice.
So, be glad we are here, celebrate and rejoice.
Mom, Dad, do not weep too long...
Keep your faith and you will be strong.
We will see you again one day
When God takes your hands and leads YOU this way.
You have a job on Earth, IMPORTANT.
Your time will come, with us, restoreth.
Patience says hi, don't worry mom, I'll take care of Dawson,
We'll wait for you...
Our brothers and sisters,
And daddy, too.
Heads up, eyes dry, carry on your life.
We know you will cry from time to time.
But, remember always, us two are fine.
From here we won't worry,
But for you we care.
We are so sorry for you, we can't be there.
Love, Patience and Dawson
