"The Forgotten"

This is a movie that just came out here in South Africa. I am sure it is a bit old in the States. Anyway, we saw it last night. Yes, it is about alien abduction but I got so much more out of it.

The aliens were experimenting to see if parents would forget their children when they abducted them. They put some kind of spell over them. There was one mother who would NOT forget her child no matter what they did. The alien told her that they have been trying to quantify and understand the bond between mother and child but they just couldn't get a grasp on it because it is so powerful. Finally, the alien forced the women to give it her first memory of seeing the child. So, she immediately the thought of the second her son was born. The alien immediately took that memory and for one second she forgot her child. Then she started remembering when her son was still in her tummy. "There was life inside of me," she said, and then all of the memories started coming back. The aliens lost and eventually she and the others got their children back.

I know all of us are filled with such powerful memories of our children. How I wish that they could bring them back physically. But I want to honour all of us - mothers and fathers - for the incredible bond that we have with our children that death cannot break but lives on even through the slightest of memories.

Doing very well on this end. I never thought I could be happy again, but Casey has changed all of that. I smile each and every min that I can. I have learned to never take anything for granted and life can be too short and to enjoy each and every min!...
