Packed for hospital!

Taryn - time is winding down!! You must be SOOOO excited!! I plan on packing my hospital bag today too so this post will help me out tremendously! I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a nice quick smooth delivery and big healthy baby!!!

Everyone gave great ideas. If you are into them, bring a book of puzzles or magazines. They can be quick to do or read so you can put down easily if the baby needs attention. I actually brought the newest Harry Potter book. The nurse laughed saying 'when will you have the time to read that?" Finished it before I got discharged - three days with peace and quiet? Please! Delivering a baby is actually a vacation for me! LOL!! Good luck!

I don't know if they do it at your hospital, but at mine, if you bring in your baby book, they will stamp it with your baby's footprint when they do it for their records.

I'm throwing in some gum to refresh my mouth and cranberry juice in case it helps stave off a UTI from the catheter. I'm packing today!!

How exciting. The one thing I wanted this time in labor (because I actually experienced with an epi that didn't work) was CHAPSTICK. OMG I wanted it so bad. My dh thought he should eat his dinner first in front of me. He should have been smacked. Anyway, I finally told him to go to the car and get my chapstick or else I was going to kill him. Didn't take him long to go to the car and back, lol.

Good luck - I'm SO excited for you!! I am having my scheduled c/s on the same day you are so I know exactly how you feel - and I'm finishing up my hospital bag too!

wow! how exciting! i think everyone covered most of the necessary items... i'm trying to remember if there was anything i wished i had when i was in the hospital that i forgot...nope. since it will be a short stay(meaning not for bedrest), i think its all been suggested. it's right around the corner for you!! can't wait!
