I had 35 weeks and 36 weeks. But generally 34 weeks is pretty safe. maybe a couple of days to a week in the nicu. Thinking about you tomorrow and hoping everything is ok. Good luck!

no experience of 34 weeks, but I think it's fantastic you made it this far. Sending you lots of wishes for a safe delivery tomorrow.

Good luck [:)]

My 33 weeker was 4lb 2oz and only required facial o2 for a few hours. She spent 16 days in special care (not NICU). She did have a feeding tube until she was 6 weeks old (39 weeks) but we did a combination of breastfeeding and gavage feeding from when she was a week old. By the time she came home she was only having 2 tube feeds per day.

I'll be thinking of you :)

Susan...thinking about you as you head in tomorrow! My 34 weeker did great! Due to IUGR she only weighed 3 lbs 10 oz, and was 16 inches long. She was on C-Pap for 12 hours and then went on her own from there! She did not have any preemie issues, besides nursing-I had to pump for three months before she would latch on. She was in the hospital for 15 days-she had to gain weight and learn to feed. Keeping you in our prayers and waiting for an update!

Susan-Best wishes tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you and your little baby doll! My 33wkr was 4lbs 7oz/on a feeding tube for 2 days/breathing room air after 2 days/and went home with me the day I was discharged (7 days after emergency c-sec). Sending you lots of positive thoughts and vibes!! Look forward to an update!

My 34 weeker little girl is now a happy, brilliant, vivacious, enthusiastic 7 year old! She was 4 lbs 1 oz at birth (50 percentile). She had hyeline membrane disease and was on a respirator for about 36 hours. Once she was weaned to room air, the big issues were getting her to hold her temperature and eating. She was in the NICU for a total of 13 days, but only 4 of them in the serious Level 3 portion. I did not have the steroids, and had an emergency C-section because of an abruption. Hope that helps!

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!
