Taking the plunge (no pun intended!!)

Well, I had my US today, which showed "baby dot," just a sac with a heartbeat!! I was pretty excited, until the nurse pulled out the syringes and I had to practice injecting a washcloth, then myself! [xx(] At 9pm tonight I will give myself my first Lovenox injection. The first of many, many, many, as I hope it's the key to a long, successful pregnancy! I am so nervous, but I know it's a good thing! Please keep me in your thoughts! I'm such a wimp!!!

You go Therese, I hope that it is only the tiniest pinch [:0]! Look at it this way, there are women out there shooting all sorts of nasty stuff into their butts (or DH) just to get pregnant.... you can do it!!

Thanks, Catherine! I just got really scared and DH is out of town on business. I'm sitting here in tears. I know it's something I have to do and it won't be bad. The practice shot wasn't bad this morning. I think I must be tired, as well!

Sweetie you can do it! It is hard to get used to the injections, but you are strong and I just know you can make it through all this! When does DH get home? I hope soon. Can you teach him how to do the shots so that he can share the responsibility with you?

Hi Suzanna,

Thanks so much for taking the time to write, with all you've been through lately! I know I will get through it. I haven't had a crying jag in a really long time! DH gets home Friday night. OK - here I go! I'll post more tomorrow, in fact, you all might get sick of me!!

Therese,
I have to tell you. My grandmother has arthristis really bad. I went with her to her DR one day and she wanted her on Methotrexate. I assured the DOC and grandma that I could give them to her 3 times a week. I took granny home and got scared! I started it off slow...only placing the needle just the slightest bit under her skin. Asking her all along if it hurt?! Well, as I started to inject her it all bubbled up under her skin. My poor old 78 yr old granny took that needle from me while she said "give me that damn thing" and jammed it into her thigh! I cried! I told her I didnt want to hurt her! lol Needless to say, granny did them on her own after that! I was such a wimp!!!!!!!

I have faith in you! You can do it! Just remember in the end will come a GREAT reward all worth EVERY single injection! Think of the baby when you give them...maybe that will help!

WoW....I just realized that I totally missed that you were pregnant. Well, I realized it as I posted that last message! Sheesh, such a blonde moment! Can I blame that on hormones too?!?!? LOL

Congrats to you as well! I was a little freaked when I got the date of 9/11, but figured for every death there is a life, so that's a good thing!
