Hi - I have been posting on the Ask the Experts forum, but this may be a more appropriate place for me. I ended up with severe pre-e during my first pregnancy - it hit at 37 1/2 weeks and I delivered the next day a perfectly healthy baby. I started researching pre-e a few months later and came upon this foundation. I am not 23 weeks with my next baby. Today I went to the University of Washington Hypertensive clinic because my bp's had started going up around my 16 week appointment. It was determined that my pulse was way too high - 115 at the appointment and I was put on Atenol. Dr. Easterling (the doctor I met with - he is on the board of this foundation) said that with a pulse like that my bp's could raise suddenly. He also mentioned that my kidny function was compromised - which would be common with a pulse like mine and I had a trace of protein in my urine. It feels good to have great medical care. I will be around here lots as I learn so much from you ladies. Had anyone else been put on Atenol at around 23 weeks (which I am)? What type of care did you get from your OB after that? I know that I will go back to the UW in 7 weeks and have an ultrasound close to that, but anything else???
