Amy, that's how I felt with my section. My bp never went past the "normal" range, but it was definitely up from my norm. I felt like I was in race against the probability that my bp may continue to rise. It rattled my nerves, to be sure. Hang in there; it's not much longer at all now! Sending you LOTS of labor vibes!!!! Can't wait to read your update!

Hey, if you end up having a baby Thursday you'll be joining me! I'm having a c-section then so our kiddos may have the same birth date ;) Hoping your bp cooperates though and your able to get another week out of this and have natural labor!

BP rising a bit more

Postby amym » Wed Mar 03, 637976 3:55 am

Just thought I'd update. Had an appt. this a.m. and BP was 130/86, then 122/82 at the end of the appt. Doc isn't worried but said I should come back for another BP check on Thurs. afternoon. If it's up then, she's on at the hospital, so she'll just have me come over to be induced.

However, when I got checked today, I was only about 1.5 cm dilated and 70 percent effaced, so she's hesitant to induce me unless my BP is up significantly. I have no protein in urine, no symptoms of PE, no swelling, etc.

I'm not sure if it's better to be induced and avoid the potential need to be on mag, or to wait another week and hope that my BP doesn't go up much more. It started to jump a bit at 36 weeks when it was 116/84, then was 120/80 at 38 and 39 weeks. So it's not going up very rapidly, but who knows what will happen so close to term.

So, to make a long story short, I'll either get induced Thursday or go into labor before then, or if everything looks OK on Thurs. the OB will let me go overdue a few days. The latest I should deliver is next Wed., though. So send your labor vibes my way, please, so I can avoid all of this!
