Hi,
I am new to the site and am finding it extremely helpful,in this my second pregnancy.
I have posted in another area (here) and already recieved some great support.
I am currently 22 weeks along with my second daughter, due June 24,2004.

I gave birth to my 13 month old baby,Bella at 33 and 5/7 months G/A.
Jan.2,2003.
She weighed 3.6,but was fiesty and strong, and was able to come home with us after 22 days. We know how truly lucky we are.

I started with the PIH a/32 weeks,w/ pressures of like, 164/104.
It continued for about 6 weeks after delivery, and eventually settled down.

I was treated with Aldomet and Procardia. I think it was the faster acting Aldomet that actually helped, but by that time my platelets were dropping and my liver was throwing off some crazy stuff. Protien was becoming more prevailent by that point as well.

My pih and pre-e was very quickly progressing. It all happened in a whirlwind of a week and a half.

Anyhow, I am concerned about this pregnancy, although, I feel great physically, and am trying to stay postive.

Hope to find out as much as I can that can benefit me this go round.

Forgive me,in advance for my poor spelling...What I call "placenta-brain".[:p]

Welcome! I'm new to the site too (in the last month), and I have found it to be very helpful, too. The people here seem friendly and supportive. So far, it sounds like you're doing alright with this pregnancy, but I do hear 'ya...especially since you said with your first it all came on so quickly. So far...so good. Keep us posted!
Sandy.

Howdy, Pugmommy!
Hope this pg goes nice and smoothly and is downright boring- sounds like your first two had enough drama for several pregnancies!
Please let us know how you're doing!

Hello and Welcome! Your first pregnancy sounds much like my first one. My son was born at 32 weeks after about 2 weeks of severe PE. That was 10 years ago. He was in the hospital for 19 days---he was born weighing 3.5 pounds. My second pregnancy was almost perfect!! No PE, my second son was born full term weighing 8lb 2 oz. That's the good news---however, I am now 13 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy and am having blood pressure problems and was on Aldomet, had a rare and serious side effect from that and am now on Labetoral (don't know if I am spelling that right!). So I guess I am saying it's very hard to say what will happen with a pregnancy after one affected by PE!! But I wish you all the best, and will be eager to hear how things are going. It's WONDERFUL you are at 22 weeks and feeling good!!

Thanks for the warm reception!

Suzanne, our stories sound very similar. I love hearing that your 2nd went so well!
I am so sorry about the trouble you are experiencing this time. I hope the new meds work. Hopefully once everything gets straightened out, you can relax and enjoy the pregnancy.(a feat that is diffcult for Mom's like us:)

Thanks to you other Mom's. I feel very welcome here already.

Love,~Jennifer

Good luck! We have the exact same due date - June 24th! I also had a sudden onset of preec at 36 weeks when carrying my 2nd. This is my third and I'm on Labetalol for PIH which started at 20 wks. Although I already have some bp issues, I feel good about this preg too. This site will definitely help you overcome some fears you may have!

Congratulations Barbra!
There must have been something in the air or water last Sept., because I know like 5 others due at the same time!

I'm in MD and we kid that it must have been due to the blackout during hurricaine Isabel;)

Good luck! We should keep each other posted!
Love, J

Congratulations all.. and never underestimate the influence of weather extremes, especially when the power goes out! I delivered Lucy (early) when the crop of "icestorm 2000" babies were being harvested. One night/early morning I rang the bell a bunch of times and nobody came. Eventually one wrecked-looking L&D nurse stuck her head around the door and asked how urgent my need was. They were just finishing their 6th C-section of the night and that was on top of vaginal deliveries!!!!

Hi Pugmommy,
On a light note. I am also a pugmommy to 2 beautful pug boys, Bubba and Zeke, and a real mommy to my beautiful daughter Bella. Interestingly enough my name is also Jennifer. Just a little strange. I was so disappointed growing up that I has such a common name that I was convinced I would give my daughter a name that was uncommon. I have since met quite a few baby Bella's but i don't care b/c I still love the name. Does your daughter have a middle name? Glad to hear things are going okay so far.
