24 week update

We had our 24 week appt with today. Overall
it was a good appt. BP was a little high, which we
expected. My OB didn't tell me the exact readings. I'm
still getting pretty good readings at home, and my
kidneys are not leaking protein so no PIH diagnosis
yet. She did change the BP criteria slightly... She
wants me to have lab work (kidney and liver tests)
done any time my diastolic (bottom number) stays above
86 for several hours. The criteria had been if both
stayed 140/90 for several hours. So I could be
looking at a lot of lab work in the coming weeks. [:(]
Baby B performed well during the non stress test
(NST) again. Very active and a good heartrate. [:)]
OB wants to see me again next Wed, March 3rd.
Then we see the Peri again on Wed, March 10th. I guess the weekly appts are starting, but that is good since the scary third trimester is quickly approaching.

In other news... my wonderful team at work threw me a surprise baby
shower yesterday. They were so sneaky! Tim was even
in on the surprise, and it was great to have him
there. It was so much fun, and it meant so much to
me! Baby B got tons of great things... lots of
clothes, a bouncy seat, a bath tub, a humidifier, and
so many other great things! No doubt about it I work
with the best group of people!

Congrats, Amanda!

Sounds like things are going pretty well! Are you working FT? How often do you have to take your BP? I hope things continue to go well! How far along were you with Aidan? (If you don't mind my asking.) Hang in there! You can do it!

I am glad the appt. all and all went well for you!! 24 weeks! Yeah...your getting up there!! Oh, and how fun for you that you git a suprise abay shower[:)] That's great!! Keep up the good cooking!!!

I just wish I had made it a bit farther before the darn BP started getting so high. I'm so relieved there is no protein yet, though. And I am very happy that my OB is going to be watching me even closer.

Therese ~ I am working 4 days a week. My OB never let me return to FT after the first pg. She and my cardiologist agreed it was time to make some lifestyle changes, and we could afford the small paycut. I try to take my BP at least twice a day... morning and night. If I am feeling bad, I'll take it a few extra times. I was 29 weeks, 2 days with Aidan when I had the abruption (5 days after the PIH diagnosis). I guess 29 weeks is a turning point for the placenta or something. But we are both going to make it past that this time!!!
