Quick update - Graphic and TMI

Hi ladies. I thought I'd fill you in on my latest saga. But, I want to forwarn you that it's quite graphic.

Friday morning, I woke up feeling "weird". I went to the bathroom and realized that there was blood -- actually A LOT of blood. I am out of town (in canada) and wasn't sure what to do. I called the LD dept in Seattle and they told me to go to the nearest er. I went and after a long wait (canadian med system sucks), and a lot of testing, I was diagnosed with a subchorionic bleed. The bleeding did subside and they did an ultrasound and saw a fetal heartbeat. They released me with orders to stay off my feet and no lifting. After spending the whole day in the hospital I called and spoke with my peri. He told me that although bleeding in preg is never good, it was encouraging that both the bleeding stopped and that they saw a heart beat. He did warn me that the flight back might make it worse. He also explained that if the bleeding started up and didn't stop that it could cause a miscarriage.

Here's my question. Have any of you had a subchorionic bleed? How long did it take for it to stop bleeding? How far along were you?

OMG, are you okay? I didn't even know you were prego! you never said anything when I spoke to you the last time! You be very careful, which I am sure you are, my heart just aches for you. Get home safe and give me a call I'll come over and help with Yoni if you would like the help [:)]. I had a very large blood clot at 2-3 wks but they never said it was a subchorionic bleed. I did bleed very heavily but the clot stayed put and I was on strict br and getting my HCG levels checked every 3-4 days along with u/s every 5 days. Give me a call when you get home if you can. When do you come home? You are a very strong woman just hold in there, my prayers are with you[:I]

Thanks Ladies. I knew that I could count on you for moral support. I am supposed to travel back late on April 1st. However, I am also supposed to go for a follow up ultrasound to see how things are looking before that. The dr here advised against flying if it is still bleeding, even though that contradicts the dr in seattle. To make matters more complicated, hospitals in Ontario will not accept my insurance (or any insurance for that matter). So, I paid up front for all services and am supposed to be reimbursed after I submit the claims. I really don't want to have to go through the whole ordeal again.

Luckily, my family and inlaws have been very helpful. I am now off to relax again. I'll fill you in once I have more news. For now, I haven't bled or spotted in a few days and the "allday" sickness is driving me insane. B6 isn't even touching it and I can't find Unisom here. Any other suggestions???

If you have to go back to the Dr. there, ask if they will prescribe Phenergan. It helped me a lot when I was so sick,earlier this month.

Otherwise I seem to remember someone reccommending grapefruit juice?? I know peppermint is supposed to be a natural stomach settler. Good luck.

Bonnie, Canada actually has something called diclectin a med specifically for pregnancy nausea, and it is made of doxyclamine succinate (the active ingredient in unisom) and pyroxidine-

I'd call the pharmacy to see if they have anything with doxyclamine succinate OTC and failing that, ask for a prescription for diclectin from the docs office. I'd bet if you called it in to the doc, you wouldn't even have to be seen...

I'm thinking about you, honey. We'll all give a sigh of relief when you're safely home...
