Thanks-you guys have made me feel better. Though I think once you've been that 1% you realize that it does happen to someone-so 1% doesn't seem all that low of a chance-know what I mean. :) BUT, I'm going to think positive and say this will take care of itself. I have another ultrasound in a month and then another one at 28 weeks if I need it.
Thanks again for the reasurance!

I had it too, and it resolved itself! The peri told me it was very common, and not to worry about it, but kept an eye on it through ultrasounds...good luck!

I just wanted to reassure you - this is pretty common and in most cases it does resolve as the uterus stretches bigger. Like you need one more thing to worry about of course [;)], but hopefully this problem will take care of itself and be just fine by the time you are ready to deliver.

Mine was touching the edge of my cervix and thankfully as the pregnancy progressed it was no longer a problem.

Thanks-they told me on the phone that it wasn't a big deal yet-that most of them correct themselves. My son has a lot of medical issues and a syndrome-so I guess I was just (and am) just throwing a bit of a pity party-why me-why couldn't it have just been fine. I am of course concerned, but do hope that it just turns out to be nothing. Thanks-

Hi -
I had this with my pregnancy and nothing came of it. I was also told that it usually corrects itself that as the uterus grows the placenta naturally moves itself up. My peri was seriously not concerned so I tried not to be too.

Hopefully your doctor will help you not be concerned.

I had this too at my level II but once my uterus really started stretching out it was clear that it wasn't so close to my cervix as to be a problem. It will probably just buy you a couple more U/S until they see where you stand.

ultrasound shows low lying placenta

Postby pkandm » Thu Jan 13, 638287 2:49 pm

So my 20 week ultrasound didn't end up with the perfect bill of health I was hoping. It showed that I have a low lying placenta. They said that it isn't over the cervix, just low...so they are hopeful that it'll move up.

Anyone have this and how worried/concerned should I be. I will actually talk to the dr tomorrow so I'll get more info then as well.
