Thank you, all! My daughter-in-law had her ultrasound yesterday at 18 weeks; I thought it might be too early but they very clearly saw 'boy parts'!!! So looks like I will have a new grandson in July!!He is measuring exactly where he is supposed to be, too. So all is well thus far.

You can usually tell around 13 weeks. We knew that early with all three of my pregnancies. Good luck :)

I found out for sure at 18 weeks. I had multiple ultrasounds before that and I kept hearing "boy"...now I've had three ultrasounds since 18 weeks and they all show "girly" parts. :)

When I was pregnant with Braden my OB told me at my 16 week appt. they would probably be able to tell but my little boy didn't want to show himself until about 28 weeks, yep 28 weeks!!!! It took us forever to see what he was. I also had a co-worker who's son didn't show what he was until she was 32 weeks!!!

With this one, I found out at 14 weeks. My friend is an u/s tech so I had her do it at her office. So.. it wasn't a regularly scheduled u/s as those were at 8 weeks and then 18 weeks.

At mine, my friend was 80% sure it was a boy. We could even see the part. The other 7 u/s I had after that verified she was right. But... I've also heard it's easier to be right with a boy than a girl.

Sometimes they can tell as early as 12 or 13 weeks, I think. Though typically they wait to determine that at the 18-20 week U/S. Although we've had a few ladies who've been told they were having "insert gender here", and surprise, ended up with the opposite. :-)

Ultrasound

I have a question for all you preggos out there; at how many weeks can you usually tell the sex of the baby? I realize this is dependent on how 'shy' or not shy he/she is, but what is the general timeframe?

NOTE: When I was having my kids, ultrasounds didn't look anything like what they do now!!!! and they were not routinely done.

Thanks!
