Well, after all that mess last week today's appointment actually went rather well. My OB will not send me to the Internist again. The peri she spoke with said a 24 hr BP wasn't really needed anyway (he didn't expect we'd learn anything we didn't already know, namely that my BP's are up but not quite hypertensive). My bp was about 140/90-ish with +1 proteinuria so I have orders for a 24 hr urine. I'm also supposed to schedule an ECG when I pick up my jug. I'm now on baby asprin also. I'm to take my BP twice a day and bring my logs into the office each week. Apt's every 2 weeks at the moment. NST's starting 28 weeks (didn't ask how often). And ultrasounds every 4 weeks (unless there are other issues) starting at my next apt on the 20th. Also, she says now that she really doesn't want to consider me as a chronic hypertensive since my pre-pg bp's are so low (seems like the peri influenced that decision) and so it would be PIH and bedrest is very much a possibility. WHAAAA! [:(] I'm definately not looking forward to that after the last time! Bp meds, according to what the peri said to her, wouldn't be started untill my BP's were consistantly in the 140/90-150/100 range. Don't remember the exact number, but it was between those two. Hmm...what else? She said she was fine with me going to Dr. E...whatever I wanted. Though, I'll hold off at this point and see how things go.
So, it was an overall good appointment. Will let you know what the ECG and 24 hr urine say or how my next appointment goes...whichever comes first!
