I just had my 20 week appointment. It was sort of mixed! My BP was 130/90, which is quite a bit higher than it's been running at home. I had quite a headache all day leading up to the appt., so I wasn't totally surprised. I had +1 protein in my urine, down from +2 last time but still not ideal. My OB wants me to see a kidney specialist. That surprised me a little, as I thought kidney problems were all part of the whole PE/PIH package and probably not a seperate problem that I needed to see someone else for. Has anyone else been refered to a kidney specialist? They had done a lot of blood tests last time, and those showed most kidney functions were okay, but quite a high amount of protein was in the clean catch urine sample. She wants the kidney person to do the 24 hour urine in case it's some special kind...??? She wants me to go fairly soon.
But the GOOD news is she had the US report from Monday, which was great---everything looked just right! I have gained 7 pounds total so far, which is about on target, and the heartbeat sounded good.
She said if the headache doesn't go away by tomorrow, I should go back in. Tylenol hasn't touched it so far.
Thanks for listening, all!
