The red/white spot you are talking about sounds more like capillary refill which is normal. Though, that doesn't mean you aren't swelling. You may be getting closer to pitting or the swelling may be normal. Pitting edema is when your finger leaves an indentation after just a simple poke, no more than a second or two of poking. [;)] And, my mother's scale is off by 5 lbs or so, so yes that is possible. I thought I had sustained my weight...nope! Big ol weight gain (mine was from m/s lessening though)! If you are worried about the weight gain, go in for a weight check at the same scale. That is the only way to get an accurate weighing. How is your blood pressure? What is it ranging normally? Do you have good and bad bp days like me?
