I'm on baby aspirin with my pregnancy. I had to take it for 3 months before conception even.

Good luck to you and congrats on a little girl!

Welcome! I was put on low dose aspirin for a blood clotting disorder. I have never heard of it being used to just help prevent pre-eclampsia, but that sounds great if it does!

Raven,

Hi and welcome to you! You'll find that we can all appreciate a case of nerves during a pregnancy following preeclampsia...!

Heather (Blythe) gave you some great links to check out.

From my personal experience, I consulted with three peris prior to a 2nd pregnancy - 1 recommended aspirin, 1 was iffy, 1 did not recommend it. Based on individual patient circumstances and individual doctor experiences, I think you'll find that recommendations on whether or not to use aspirin vary greatly.

One thing I just have to note here for anyone that may be lurking. Low dose aspirin should not be started without your doctor's approval. It is not completely risk-free, it's just that for most that are prescrbed it, the potential benefits can outweigh those risks.

I wish you a very healthy pregnancy, please let us know how we can help!

Thankyou very much! We found out we are expecting a baby girl, which is very exciting being as we have 5 boys! I am going to go ahead and start the aspirin then. I just wanted to do a little research before I did. I'm one of them that doesn't trust everything the dr tells me.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

I am expecting baby #6 too!

I am taking 81 mg of baby aspirin daily as well, and as far as I can find, there is no danger to the baby from such a low dose. I have a slight clotting disorder, so it just keeps my blood thin enough to help the placenta work better I think.

I hope things go much better for you this time around!!! And congrats on your new pregnancy!

Kelly
