Good brand of home BP machine?

Postby suzanne » Tue May 04, 2004 05:19 am

I just tried for about 15 minutes to get a reading with my BP machine. It has a habit of constantly saying Error. Either I am doing something drastically wrong lately in trying to take my BP, or I need a new machine! I checked and my insurance doesn't pay, so I need to buy my own. Can anyone advice me on a machine that's good and not extremely expensive? My old one is from 1992, it was given to me when pregnant with my 2nd son in 1997, so it's probably lived its natural life! Thanks!

Make sure when you get one you bring it with you to the doctor office so they can compare readings....

I have been told that Omron is the best and that you can get slightly higher readings when you use batteries instead of an adapter.

I have an Omron and I love it! I do get higher readings when using batteries though.
