Hi! My name is Angela and i have one year old son that was born at 36w due to severe PE. I am pregnant with number 2 and due in November. I have some questions. I have been monitoring my blood pressure at home and i have been getting some high readings and i have been having some of the symptoms of PE. Is is too early to show signs at almost 15w. My blood pressure has been fine at the dr office and i don't have any protien my urine and no swelling. But i have been having some pains on my right side under my rib. I have also has times when i have i hard time catching my breath. The other day when i got to work i felt like i was having a panic atack. I felt really anxious. I don't know if is all the stress that i am under or if i am starting to show signs. I just feel like my dr isn't listening to me. I just don't know what to do. Please help!

Hi anglea and welcome!! I know how worriesome this can be. Symptoms for pre-e can appear pretty early. You may have however, chronic hypertension if it is showing up this early. This a lot of times can be manages with med's. Are you seeing a high risk OB? That might be a good idea. Many doc's will work in conjuction with a perinatoligist(high risk doc). Where do you live? One of our members may be able to help you find a peri. I am sorry you are not feeling well. I know how scary it is. Keep us posted on how things are going.

I started having an increase in BP's early on this pregnancy. I started around 100/60's and am now about 130's/80's for the most part. I don't remember exactly when it started going up, but after about 2-3 months, I beleive. The biggest symptom I noticed this time around was my racing pulse. I don't know what my norm was before pregnancy, but I know it wasn't 100-130 bpm! When you get that winded, anxious feeling, take your pulse and perhaps you are having the same odd problem I am! My doctor ran tests but is not treating my tachycardia.

I agree with Mada that you should seek a perinatologist and feel more assured about your care.

My bp's starting going up at 12 wks, around 140's/90's and racing pulse(120's and higher) I felt pretty sick and tired and out of breath. With your history I hope you are seeing a high risk ob or peri.

I have a dr appoinment next week and i am going to bring all this to her attention and see what she says. I just need support because everybody acts like it is no be deal. I am so scared. Thanks again.

Unless people have been in a situation like ours, they don't understand the worry and fear. That is why I came to this website and never left.

And, just to add my perspective to the peri distance issue...I would have to fly over 600 miles to see one, so a 1 hour drive would be a welcomed blessing. Please reconsider your decision to see a perinatologist if your doctor does not take your concerns seriously.

Hi Angela,

I was born in Natchez, MS. And I still have a lot of relatives outside of Jackson. I live in Washington state now.

I never developed PE but I had PIH. My blood pressure started going up at about 14 weeks. It was 160/100. Atenolol kept my blood pressure under control.

Good luck to you.
