Ya' know, I had some scary chest pain early preg. off and on during the holidays.
They didn't seem too concerned and said it might be a pulled muscle. I also get the upper back pain from time to time. I attribute that to poor sleeping postitioning etc. I know the weight redistribution has something to do with it.
I get that between the shoulder baldes.

I hope they get to the bottom of it, and that they don't have to mess w/ your gall bladder any time soon.

Feel Better!
Love, J
I hope it all gets figured out.

Dearest Catherine!

So sorry to hear about your day. Please let us know how the u/s goes today.

I have to tell you that you sound like me though. Since I have recently been getting high bp readings, I am paranoid. I have been playing out scenarios in my head because if my bp gets too high I have to travel 45 mins away to a high risk hospital. How can I do that with two children?! UGH!!

Anyways... enough of my rant. I hope you are feeling better.

Hugs,
Suzanna

They think it is my gallbladder. The doctor (one I don't like)did an ultrasound and my gallbladder was full but he didn't see any kidney stones so they are sending me in for the serious U/S tomorrow morning. I'm on vicodin for the pain; works wonders. Of course they took my BP lying down (though they did take both arms because I was insistant that my right arm is a good 10 pts lower than my left. And guess what? LOL It was EXACTLY 10 pts lower. 120/69 right 130/69 left. I do feel a bit of a headache now though. Can vicodin cause that?

After losing my lunch from the pain I am starved so I'm going to go eat some dinner. Hope I didn't worry you all too much. I know it freaked me out! I don't normally get pain so I worry when I do. I'll let you know what I find out tomorrow.

Nervous Nellie here...

Postby akemt » Tue May 11, 2004 05:03 pm

Okay, so I already know I'm paranoid. Here's more proof:

Yesterday I got a headache that came on somewhere around 1pm and lasted till about 2-3pm today. Tylenol didn't help yesterday and today it helped a little. Like, when I started to think it was working, it would wear off. My swelling was worse on Saturday and Sunday morning then went away mid-day. Happened again this morning. I think my finger swelling is much affected by gravity. LOL

Anyway, I debated calling the OB about the headache since my BP's haven't been any worse and I'd get the normal reaction from them. Well, about 10 minutes ago I started feeling like my back seriously needed to be popped -it was sore. So I tried by twisting like usual and it didn't work. It is common for me to have a sore back, but usually in my lower back, not upper. Now the back pain is more of a chest pain...central and right near my zyphoid. It hasn't been going on for long and I'll feel like a total idiot if I call in and it goes away. I should also mention I have a high pain tolerance (example: my appendix ruptured on a Friday evening and I didn't go to the hospital till Sunday afternoon...and that is when I was 8) I don't get indigestion that causes pain. Gas sure, but it feels like gas pain and isn't near my chest.

Just took bp, 158/100...not my norm for today (124/80 and 128/84) so I don't know if this is from the pain or visa versa. Ugh. I guess I've just talked myself into calling.
