First, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so, so happy to read this. Welcome, Reed - so many people you'll never even meet are so, so happy that you're here!

I'm glad you are at peace with Reed's birth, although I'm sorry to read that it was scary for a little while. Could the pressures also be running a bit higher since you're still healing from your c/s? Do you have a local ICAN chapter - the International Cesarean Awareness Network? A local leader may be able to give you some healing tips, since you mentioned this one has been much more painful.

I also wonder if maybe it's more painful because you're taking care of your healthy term newborn this time, so there's more demands on your body. I know that after my 28 wk c/s, I didn't do a lot but rest and visit the NICU and healing was STILL rough, and I can't imagine how much harder it would be while taking care of your new little one!

Thinking of you!

CONGRATS!!!! I am so happy to hear that you are both home safe and sound. Hope the swelling subsides soon. I remember peeing for a solid day at some point after my daughter came home, and you will also get to have that wonderful day soon.

Thanks guys and thanks for checking up on me. BP was a bit better today - got a 122 over 68 reading and a 128 over 76. Still high for me compared to entire pregnancy but not fearfully high. Ankle pitting edema seems to be improving slowly. My HMO is checking in with me daily for 10 days post partum to make sure pp pe doesnt happen.

Part of the reason BP is up is I am constantly on the move, hard with two kids. Feeding the 5 yr old lunch and trying to finish in time to nurse the baby who is constantly hungry. Not to mention eating enough (mom) etc.

Tiffany,

Congratulations once again on the safe arrival of baby Reed....I developed HUGE pitting edema from the knees down two days after delivery and it went away about two weeks later. I too had almost no swelling during the pregnancy. How is yours doing?

Congratulations! I'm glad things went so well for you--aside from the reaction to the anesthesia.
