Ok, what is "getting the O"? On the TTC forum?! LOL I was reading some post on there and theres lots of talk about that big "O" word.(we wont discuss what I originally thought after reading one post! HMMMM! I am thinking, she does not have to have "THAT" to get pregnant!!!) LOL Dah! Blonde moment! :) I assume that means ovulation. Is that right?! And FP or PF, whatever that is. I am trying to understand your charting ways...and I just dont!

HEAVENS NO, I am not TTC! But, I want to understand what you all are doing over there! Heck, I could dry off with the same towel Bill uses after he showers and get PG! LOL Ever heard of Fertile Mertyl? Well, she has nothing on me! lol

Glucose Tolerance test which is typically given at 28 weeks to see if you have GD (gestational diabetes) (usually cola stuff you drink then they draw blood an hour later)

A few more
AFP - otherwise nown as the triple test, those blood tests done to screen for Downs, Spinabifida and a few more things, some places its now a 4 screen test
HTN - hypertension

Some places you will start to see things like Factor 5, IGM, IGE, Protein S/C and those are all things regarding different blood clotting things

The other big one we see alot is PCOS which is polyclastic ovary syndrome I beleive..

HTH (hope that helps)

Good link, thanks Allison!

And, while it says that a BPP is a biophysical profile, I'll tell you that it is a form of ultrasound that gives the baby a rating as to its health and normally has a NST (non-stress test meaning fetal heart rate monitoring) done with it. Just another way of keeping an eye on our little bundles.

Abbreviations

Postby amjeang » Tue Jun 22, 2004 01:44 pm

Ok I now two posts all at once...but

I am pretty new to these forums, and I was wondering if you could brief me on the common abbreviations you use (ie BBP.. I am guessing that has something to do with Blood pressure)

Using common sense, I've figured out:

DH - Dear Husband
DD - Dear Daughter
DS - Dear Son
HBP - High blood pressure
