Boarding the PE train, again...

Hi everyone. I havent been on here in forever but I watch PEF on facebook. After my experience with my DS in 2010 I didnt plan on having more children. PE scared me and honestly I felt so sick and he was so sick after birth that I didnt plan on EVER having more kids...well, THAT is not in my control obviously.... ;)

I am pregnanct with a baby girl. I am currently 27 weeks along, and have had many issues this pregnancy, Wed night however, I boarded the PE train again. I got really dizzy, a throbbing HA and well, Immediately took my bp which was 150/90.
I decided to go to bed and see if it came down, Nope. My BP yesterday morning when i woke was 139/89 my baseline is 106/60. I ended up going to LnD and they put me back on Bedrest which you all know is taxing without having a 17 month old... I have that intense pressure in my right mid back that I had with my DS, I talked to the Dr and they said they were just waiting for this to start.

So.....chug chug chug along to at least 32 weeks on bedrest....

I'm so sorry you're dealing with PE again! Are you seeing an MFM this pregnancy?

what is a MFM? I am seeing the OB and then I also see a perinatologist... I have so much going on they are saying that I will have preterm delivery again but earlier this time.

The PE is not the only issue with BP's they are watching, I am also at VERY high risk for Autonomic Disreflexia due to my neurological/nerve issues..,

I was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis in July of last year and was in the hospital for over a month. The Biggest risk is PTL and ADR...on top of everything else. I was hoping PE wouldnt be an issue this time around.... :?

MFM is maternal fetal medicine specialist - just another name for perinatologist, I'm glad you've got one on board!

I don't even know what Autonomic Disreflexia and Transverse Myelitis are :( - are either autoimmune conditions by any chance? In any case, they sound very much not fun.

Did your doc give you bp#s for when to call in vs when to just pack up and head back to L&D? One "good" thing - you definitely won't be surprised by PE this time, you know the drill!

Transverse Myelitis is a autoimmune disease caused by a virus/infection usually respiratory. Which is how it happened with me. It causes a segmentation of the spinal cord (mines at T-12) and all the nerves below the segmentation are affected. Because mine is rather high, I may or may not even be able to feel labor when it comes on....Right now my body is registering fetal movement as contractions.... its weird....

Autonomic Disreflexia is a neurological condition that is sparked by damaged pain receptors in the damaged nerves. The response sends the persons bloodpressure to a dangerous point and can cause cardiac arrest. Since its neurological the typical cardiac meds dont work.

I have been told by JH hospital and my docs that the only safe way for delivery is vag. with immediate epidural,

So adding PE to my long list of TM, DM, Epilepsy and hx of pe... I'm a big mess...
