Second Preganacy after loosing my first to preeclampsia

Well, it has finally happened. My husband and I are pregnant with our second child after loosing our first child (Olivia) to preeclampsia almost three years ago. I am 12 wks and everything looks fine for now. I am being monitored much more closely by a MFM specialist and a high risk OBGYN. They way they have my appointments scheduled, I am seeing a doctor about every two weeks. I am very nervous about this pregnancy. After such a tragic loss with our first child everyone I am sure can imagine the hope and anxiety that another pregnancy brings. I was hesitant to even post my pregnancy, but I need the support that only this site can offer. I truly pray for an uneventful pregnancy with a wonderful outcome!

I'm so sorry for your loss. We're in a very similar situation, my son was born sleeping at 33 weeks with my last pregnancy, pre-e diagnosed at 32 weeks. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and it's a daily struggle to keep my anxiety at bay. I just try to focus on the differences in the pregnancies to remind myself this is a NEW baby, a New pregnancy. We did just find out today though that we're having another boy. I think it would have been easier to separate the pregnancies with a girl, but I'm just trying to remember this is not Peyton, this is his brother.

I hope we can get through this together and have photos to share of our beautiful, healthy rainbow babies!

I also lost my first at 27 weeks. The one OB I went to highly suspects HELLP syndrome.

I remember you! Our stories were so similar (our DD was also named Olivia and I also delivered at 23 wks.) I am 11.5 weeks pregnant for the third time now so our due dates aren't very far apart.

I will be praying you have a healthy, uneventful pregnancy! Are you on low dose aspirin or anything?

Thanks everyone. I am on low dose asprin and also I am on THREE blood pressure medications (labetolol, clonidine, and procardia). I am currently 13 wks and my blood pressure today is 138/85. Definately the highest it has been since my pregnancy. I sent a message to my doctor to see if she wants to adjust some of my dosages. She did tell me that this will be a mind game for me because everytime it starts to raise a little I start to panic and think the worst. But part of that is because during my last pregnancy I felt the doctor took a "Lets wait and see approach". I don't want that to happen this time. So... this afternoon I am resting in bed and hoping that tomorrow morning it will be better (it usually is in the am). Thanks everyone for your support because I am going to need it

I can relate to your anxiety - I too have that problem with panic some days. I am trying to just take it one day at a time, rest when I need to, eat, sleep when I need to...hang in there! Looking forward to supporting each other.
