I'm now 22 weeks pregnant with di/di twin boys. One of my OBs suspects HEELP syndrome when I was pregnant with my daughter (and lost her at 27 weeks). I've been going to the MFM every 2 weeks since 8 weeks and will now go weekly (until twice weekly starts).

Congrats on your double blessing! And I'm so sorry for the loss of your first sweet little one.

I wasn't officially diagnosed with HELLP in my first pregnancy, but looking back I think I should have been. My platelet count certainly qualified, and my other numbers were just this side of diagnostic. That baby was born at 35 weeks via induction. I had PE again with my second baby, mild at 37 weeks. I then had a set of twins. I was diagnosed with PIH at 22 weeks, PE at 31 weeks, hospitalized at 33 weeks, and induced at 36 weeks. I ended up with severe post partum PE, but my twins did great.
Wife to Brett 6/30/02
Mom to Ethne Joy 10/12/03, 35 weeks, severe PE
Mom to Catie Grace 12/8/06, 37 weeks, mild PE
Mom to Riley Faith and Gavin Arthur 7/7/09, 36 weeks, PIH 22 weeks, PE 31 weeks, severe post partum PE
Mom to four angels Grace (12/15/05), Ian (7/28/08), Declan (5/23/15), and Lucy (11/24/15)

So sorry for the loss of your firstborn. I hope you have a smooth pregnancy and you are happy with your caregivers. Best wishes!
DS born Dec. 2008 at 38.5w gestation. Mild PE diagnosed 3 hours before he was born
DD born Dec. 2010 at 40w1d. BP was slightly elevated since 37w, and climbed while in labor (started on my own). Severe PE diagnosed hours after DD born.
DD born Sept. 2013 at 38w. Induced (and I had to fight for it!) due to high blood pressure. No protein, but had brisk reflexes and clonus after delivery. Doc gave me a mild preeclampsia diagnosis anyway and said I'm likely to be a chronic hypertensive later in life.

Pregnant with Twins

Postby alonghouser9988 » Mon Apr 20, 639868 3:40 pm

I had HELLP with my 1st baby which ended in a loss at 21 weeks, I had mild pre-eclampsia with my 2nd pregnant but she is a healthy 2.5 year old now. I am now pregnant again with twins. Anybody else that is a HELLP survivor pregnant with twins?
