HBP Advice/Opinions Needed

Donald,

you've been given some great information and you are clearly asking the right questions of the doctors. Keep it up, keep monitoring your wife closely and don't hsitate to go straight into L&D with any concern.

I am a chronic and my 'go to hospital' BP was 160/106. Diastlics (bottom number) heading toward 110 are very concerning, even in those of us who run high. Please watch out for facial swelling or even something as simple as your wife saying she's 'feeling off'.

I would also ask the doctors how they plan to manage your wife's pressures during labor.

So, we have been home about 24 hours and Kristi has been on bedrest.

Here are the 6 BP readings since we have been home:

I so agree, those seem so high. I was hospitalized at 150/100 (but I am not chronic). I am wondering if they have done any blood work or 24 hour urine collection to check on these other signs of PE and HELLP??? Just my opinion....if she does have other symptoms and/or overall not feeling well (with my severe PE I swore I had some find of flu), go into to labor & delivery at least get checked out. Sometimes I was there every other day and at least that gave me some peace of mind that things were ok.

They do bloodwork every week and did the urine collection Mon-Wed, all came back negative. Urine came back a couple of times with trace and +2 once, but they said the 24hr was negative.

Maybe the doctors will consider admitting her for the duration. That way the nurses can monitor the baby closely while squeezing more time out of the pregnancy.

Those pressures do seem high. Some over 150 and 110. Is she going back in? I hope this is over soon for you all and you have a healthy baby in the next few days!

Well, we checked it one more time and it was 139/115 so we called the nurse and she told us to go back to the MEU. We did at around 5pm and after pressures of 181/96, 148/110, 146/110, 148/108, Kristi has been admitted again to the Hospital.

We, literally, just got a room and pressures are 142/102, 144/100, 144/100 as of right now and they simply want to monitor again. She will be doing another 24 urine and they will monitor vitals and BP every 4 hours.

She has had blurred vision and the Doctor in the MEU thinks that if that continues and the diastolic number remains over 100, they will induce soon. We shall see, of course, she won't be here in the morning. We have been told that we will see the same 2 Doctors that let us go home on Wednesday, so that should be interesting.

I am so relieved to hear your wife has been admitted - and I would fully expect her to be staying put until delivery.

So, overnight pressures were 138/98 and 138/92. We have seen one Doctor so far this morning that basically is saying that with those pressures coming down, they do not plan to do anything. She is blaming the vision issues yesterday on her headache, not PE.
