I am 24 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my first baby with no family history of preeclampsia. Until couple of days ago my BP was around 100/60, it has always been on a lower side before pregnancy. About 5 days ago days ago I noticed increase in feet swelling and headaches, and my BP started fluctuating between 120/60 to 135/75. Urine dip stick did not show any protein. My doctor says that I'm fine, since my BP is not 140/90 and no proteinuria.
I am still worried since 135/75 is a big jump from my baseline. I was not taking enough calcium and read somewhere that increasing calcium intake can prevent preeclampsia.
Is my jump in BP okey? Does it have to reach 140/90 in order to be considered preeclampsia, or the fact that it increased from 100/60 to 135/75 is sufficient to pose a concern? Thank you.
