Unsure of symptoms

I am on my 3rd preg and concerned about emerging symptoms. First preg was undiagnosed preeclamp, I believe, high bp with over 100 lbs of weight gain,(17 lbs within 3 days in my 40th week), delivered by c-section in 41st week bcs of breech. My healthcare was pitiful at best. 2nd preg went well, uneventful, elective c-sec at 38 wks. I am now in my 27th week and within in one month I have gained 22 lbs and feel horrid, my bp on last visit was only 140/70, the nurse said not significant and no protein in urine, but swelling is significant to me. I did not see the doctor this visit, but I am worried bcs of the massive wt gain and am not sure what to look for, or whether to press my doctor on this bcs she was not my dr. with my first preg.

I would be concerned. Weight gain of this magnitude is an early sign of evolving preeclampsia. While 140/70 does not yet meet the criteria for diagnosing hypertension, you are only 27 weeks and have a long way to go.

You are at risk and should trust your instincts. I would suggest that you have your BP checked again this week and discuss your concerns with your doctor.
