Hello, I'm wondering if you can help me understand something. I was diagnosed with PE with my first child when I was about 36 1/2 weeks. I went to my normal visit and they immediately admitted me. They held me in the hospital until 37 weeks and then induced. My second pregnancy was seemingly normal. My labor and delivery were fairly quick. And then I began hemoraging (sp?). It was really bad, but they didn't seem to know what was going on or why. They finally got it to stop and then did a test (on platelets, I think). I was told I needed a transfusion, which I very adamantly refused. They gave me 24 hours. Luckily, my platelets "recovered" enough, but only barely. So I did escape the transfusion. There was never any sort of explanation as to why it may have happened. My question is this: Could the hemorrhaging have had something to do with possible PE beginning to develop again? Is there a connection that I need to be aware of? I am now 29 weeks and was diagnosed once again w/PE at 27 weeks. So far, bed rest is doing well for me. But I am also worried about the possibility of hemorrhaging again. It was an extremely scary experience that of course I would not like to repeat. Is there a chance that since I have PE again that I might hemorrhage again? Thank you in advance for your help.
