How common is it to have both preeclampsia and placenta accreta with the same pregnancy and would this be a double risk for the baby?

My daughter had preeclampsia and had to be induced 6 weeks early. She delivered a 3 lb 14 oz girl. After many failed attempts to deliver the placenta, my daughter was rushed into surgery where they discovered she had placenta accreta. They had to do an emergency hysterectomy. The baby seemed to be doing well and was discharged from the hospital after 1 week, weighing only 3 lbs 10 oz. She seemed to be ok but she developed sleep apnea and was put on a monitor at about 3 weeks of age. Then when she was 7 weeks old, my daughter woke up and found the baby not breathing. She had passed away in her sleep.

I do not know of any association between accreta and preeclampsia. Neither is related to SIDS.
