What role does the vitamin B-6 play in developing preeclampsia? I have read sparse things about B6 being helpful in preventing pre-eclampsia and am very hopeful about it.

No evidence that I know that B6 is particularly important in preeclampsia. Low B6 increases homocysteine and women with preeclampsia have higher homocysteine, but there is no evidence of cause and effect (that is that high homocysteine increases preeclampsia).

One does, however, find broad claims for B6 as curing or avoiding hyperemesis gravidarum and preeclampsia, but none of this has ever been verified by appropriate trials. Thus, one suspects you will see more and more of those snake oil to cure everything WEB adds that keep appearing and try to sell us vitamins to assure pregnancy, save the heart and blood vessels, avoid old age (those I believe!)
