Based on what you have written you are at high risk for recurrent preeclampsia. Looking for underlying causes of your erratic blood pressure would be a good start. Also, if you are overweight or out of condition, correction of life style issues would be important considerations before contemplating another pregnancy. Since you think that you might be pregnant already, a frank discussion of your options should occur as soon as possible.

bad start?

Postby gettingworried » Wed Aug 11, 2004 00:11 am

I had severe pre-e from 20 weeks with my first son delivered at 26 weeks @ 500gs.
My second son was delivered at 30 weeks @ 3lbs 11 0z and is now a strapping 5-yr-old.

My blood pressure has been erratic ever since, though contriolled for most of last year by acupuncture. I have recently moved countries, had some family tragedy and put back a lot of weight that I had shed. Recently my blood pressure readings have all been borderline or high.

I suspect that I am pregnant again and am really concerned about my chances. I know things are supposed to get easier each time, but I feel that I would be starting from a very bad position. I don't think my husband or I could cope with another loss.

What should I be asking the Dr?
