Voted for PF: Chase Giving on Facebook

I just got an e-mail asking me to vote for one of our local museums on Chase Community Giving on Facebook -- according to the site, Chase is allowing facebook members (who become fans of the Chase site) to decide how $5 million will be distributed. It says there are 100 initial winners. So I voted for the Preeclampsia Foundation!

I also posted to my wall so friends & family could vote for the PF as well.

One more edit: it looks like there may be a deadline of December 11 for "round 1" of voting. I did some searching online and found the Chase site linked from the sites of several museums, so it looks (to me) to be legit. I did notice that the address given for the PF is a P.O. box instead of the administrative office?

Emily, I believe the address they have listed is our old mailing address. I've notified Dawn Detweiler, our Local Fundraising Director and she is looking into it. I added my vote today too.

Great!!

I got another e-mail (this time from Poets & Writers magazine) asking me to vote for them. Could the PF make an announcement through its facebook presence?

Our city's science museum only had 100-something votes yesterday. I don't know how many votes it would take to make it into the top 100 charities, but seems like worth trying!

Thanks Emily for spreading word on this.....great to have these alternate (and easy) opportunities for bringing in dollars. We are double checking to be sure we are properly set up to receive/accept the funds from this project - address, etc. - staying hopeful :-) that we end up as one of the top charities!
