Child Health Plus

I was wondering what's the procedure to apply for child health plus...I am due in March and wanted to know when do we need to apply for it? and how long it takes for it to be effective?

I think this is a NY state only program. I found this website which look helpful enough. I think we have some other NY gals around, so maybe one of them will have more info for you. Good luck!

I would check it out now and get the paperwork moving if I were you, these state programs can be a little slow. good luck.

I'm in NY but have private medical insurance.

I am currently on cobra insurance so it is kind of difficult. I called the number on the link that Kara gave and they are sending me information kit but i can't apply for it until baby arrives. And, they said once i submit paperwork, it will take 5-6 weeks to take effect if approved. Lets see :-)
