Unless sleeping, or playing or the computer could be exerise... then nope LOL I love swimming, but living in NJ and not having an indoor pool makes that a no go for the winter unless I join the YMCA again. I have a treadmill and an elipitcal in the bedroom that face the tv, so I will just put on a show I like and do it. I used to do it for 90 minutes a night, it is just getting back into the habit.

I've been shopping workout programs lately, and they have me thinking about what I actually like to do. Several big popular programs have actually come out and said that (especially in the beginning) consistency with workouts matters much more than intensity or even duration. You just have to do something, then work up to doing something almost every day.
Val - is there something that you really like to do that can be turned into a workout? If you like to do something (walking, dancing, swimming, yoga, etc.), then it doesn't feel like work to do it. I agree that settling into your diet first is a smart move, but this might be time to start thinking about how you WANT to add some exercise when you get ready. I find that I can't stick with things that I don't enjoy.
Congrats on sticking to your points!! It might take a few weeks to get adjusted to how many you actually need. I was actually eating too many the first week, then too few for the next couple of weeks. I got equilibrated after about a month, and the weight came off much more consistently and faster.

So far I have been doing really good sticking to my points, so I hope the scale reflects that on Sunday... Going to add working out either next week or the week after... I don't want to try to do to much at once and get frustrated LOL

Flori - Congrats on losing anyway while you were on vacation and celebrating! It is important to do that every once in a while. Good luck with giving up soda and adding weightlifting. Those are both good and sustainable lifestyle changes.

Work has taken over my life the last two days. I think I need to find a workout that I have to pay for so I am more committed.

My update as of yesterday:

Current weight: 204.4
Change: -1.3
Total loss: 3.3
Exercise goals this week: add in two days of light strength training
Diet goals this week: cut out soda

I was very surprised when I weighed in this morning. Hubs and I definitely pigged out at our anniversary dinner and ate out a few more times because we were on vacation and lazy to cook. Oh well, I'll take it. Starting to worry I wont make my first goal. HOWEVER, it is cool to think that I could be down 30lbs by Gracie's birthday if I keep it up.

I wish I could do WW with you, Val. I did it a few years ago and went from 203 to 175 in like 5 months. Oh how I would love to be there again lol! I remember the general guidelines, maybe I'll do a modified version.

Good luck to everyone this week!

Val - WW online-only worked for me. PM me if you have questions or get stuck with it. I know you can do this. It takes a little extra work dealing with the dietary restrictions that you have, but you can do it. I had to buy a scale and get out the measuring cups to make it work. I will be getting them all back out this week.

I screwed up this week. I managed to meet my exercise goal (one run, one yoga class, one bike ride, and two hikes), but I was a snack junkie. I learned from WW that having one or two pieces of birthday cake doesn't always lead to a weight gain, but constantly snacking on crackers and pretzels will get me every time. Having both was a really bad idea. This week, I will cut the snacks and not have a birthday cake in the house.

Weight: 145.6
Gain/loss - up at least a pound
Exercise goal: Get some exercise at least six days this week. Will try for a run, ride, and yoga during the work week, and two longer workouts this weekend.
Diet Goal: Portion control and back to eating fruit for my snacks.
