Totally OT - Crib question

Hey all you experienced ladies, I need some help!!

I just found out that the crib we ordered doesn't have drop down side. Now, it hasn't been shipped yet so, I'm sure I can cancel/change the order. But, I started to wonder if this is even a big deal? (We ordered the crib from JCPenney's and there are plenty others that do have drop-down sides that I could order, I just liked the looks of this one.) So, for all of you that use cribs on a daily basis [:D], is the drop down side as handy as I think it probably is?
