New mom to preemie and some more concerns

I have some other concerns for my daughter that is 5 wks early.
1. She has had some stringy mucous blood in her stools and the doc that i cant stand says that its normal and isnt worried.
2. She also is yellow looking to me and her dad. Her skin, eyes and her gums but again the doc says no concern, that its her complexion. I have never seen the beginnings of jaundice and was wondering if these are normal things going on with her or if there is a way to tell if she is jaundice and what can I do at home to help her.

I am not sure if this is a result to her being a preemie and I know that alot of you moms have gone thru some things and I hope you can help. THANKs

Is it possible to take her into the walkin or ER to have her checked out? Or is there another doc in the practice you can see? The possible jaundice scares me, as does the bloody stools. Just doesn't seem right. You want to catch anything before it would get too serious. I gotta go with mothers intuition here. Keep us updated.

are you breastfedding? Mucousy stools are more common if you are.
Look in the whites of her eyes? Are they looking yellow too? if so, its likely Jaundice.

Will 2-6-00 (PE at 35 weeks)

her eyes are sort of yellow and her regular peds is out of town for 2 wks. I will call and see when our peds after hours is open so I can get her evaluated. There isnt alot of blood in her stool only a string here and there and I called the after hours and they said that it needs to be addressed but at this point can wait till tomorrow and told me what to look for as far as her needing immediate attention.

When you press down on her (like your fingers) what color is the mark? With both boys (Alex jaundice numbers were almost a 18 something and Mason topped out 15.3) instead of the mark being white it was obviously yellow.

We also thought Mason looked Jaundice 3 days after he was born, they checked him on both day 4 and day 5 and since the numbers were going back down it was fine.

Jaundice is very common in preemies and in babies who rh is different then their mothers (Alex was RH + and I am -) and if its not very bad you can self treat it by sitting them next to a window for a few hours a day as well (we did that with both boys by doc's orders)

About the mucous stool. My DD had the same thing at first it was like a bloody booger or something in her stool. I asked my doc about it and said it was normal but if it became more frequent or bloodier to take her in.
