I was just going over notes from the last Group Coordinator's conference call and this is what Carol wrote:
Annual Conference possibilities
Because of the difficulties of planning our annual conference from a distant location, the PF decided that to have a 2006 meeting a team of volunteers is needed that can organize and host the meeting in their local area.
In the past 2 years the PF has determined the location of our meeting based on the location of the annual North American Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (NASSHP) meeting. This way we were able to secure the participation of doctors who could conveniently speak at our meeting. In 2006, there will not be a NASSHP meeting so we will not be using that strategy to determine our location.
A few locations were discussed on the call (SC, CO) but the KEY factor will be who can step up to organize the event on the local level. Of course, the PF will be giving guidance and support to the planning of the meeting.
