With Isabella I had to pump for the first 10 weeks. It took me 3 visits to 2 different lactation consultants but she finally started nursing. The pumping was uncomfortable and exhausting and I hated it. I thought about quitting so many times but we finally got things clicking. She nursed till she was 20 months [:I] and even then it was a struggle to get her to stop.

Hang in there! I hope it will get easier for you.

Amy,

I bet Tristan looks huge considering he started out at 3 lbs! Talk about having your hands full-you have been through a lot! Does insurance pay for "liquid platinum"? Yikes-I had no idea that it cost so much. I hope he sleeps through the night from now on. It makes such a difference in your shear existance doesn't it?! Infact, a friend that I told I wasn't going to get up to feed Janie in the night had the nerve to say-I would do anything for my baby. I said-I am doing something for her. I am a better mom when I have slept!

Keep updating about Tristan-I would love to hear how he does! Here's to sleeping at night and hopefully dumping the pumping!

To all you ladies who stuck it out,

You are amazing! There is certainly no shame in formula feeding. But, wow!
