All about Breastfeeding..........

Hi Girls...

I thought about starting this thread on breastfeeding. All you experienced can share the expertise with us beginners! [;)]
I tried with Abigail, but was too sore after a couple of days and weenied out. I really want to breastfeed with this one! I have bought the medela pump and if I cant breastfeed, I will pump exclusively. I hope! :)

I, and I know alot of other mommies on here would appreciate ANY advice you can give to us!!! Whatever it may be! Any 'tips' will help.

It does get better if you can just push through the first few weeks. I breastfed my son until he was two and I'm going on four months with my daughter. I have no pain now except a slight pain with let down, but that's nothing compared to soreness. If it gets too overwhelming to do it exclusively at first, know that it's ok to give an occasional bottle. . . or let your husband do it while you take a nap! It really does get better. And my daughter is even sleeping really well now. And she's a hefty 15+ lbs at almost four months! I thought my son wasn't full enough, but it turns out he was just a bad sleeper.

The Medela pump is great. I work full time and pump with a '98 version of the Pump In Style. I also used it for the first week after my daughter was born because she was in the hospital. The pump worked so well, I had too much milk for her when she came home. :)

BLUE breastmilk?? What the heck, did you get ahold of a blueberry blow pop? LOL Hey, if they can turn the mouth blue, who knows what else they will! [;)]

My BP's are really good! Baby is wiggling alot! Other than the rib pain occationally, I am feeling pretty darn good!!!

Sherry, I am so glad to hear it. Hopefully it will stay that way through to the end!

Yeah, I seriously starting going through what I ate that would cause blue milk. No blue berries, no m&m's (sadly enough). So I panicked and called the lactation specialist we used and while I waited for her call I went online!
