YAY, Jen! Sorry about the general, but sounds like the BP is behaving. I hope you're with your little guy soon!

he's here!!!

quick message here but wanted to let u all know our son (still unnamed) made it here safe and sound this morning by c-section at 37 weeks -- he weighed a whopping 7lbs 8oz! he gave a vigorous cry when he arrived but soon showed signs of fluid stuck in his lungs so he's been transfered to another hospital close by for observation this afternoon, he was on oxygen and a feeding NG tube but he's looking like he's rounded the bend now and will be back with us tomorrow. i got about an hour of skin to skin with him before the pediatrician figured out what all the grunting was about.

i am waiting for an ambulance to transfer myself over to the other hospital to be closer to him but it looks like that won't be until morning now. i am trying to keep a positive attitude but its hard being so far from him. the doctor said his lungs are perfectly matured its just a matter of the delivery method not clearing them out.

i did have to have a general though :( they tried a spinal to no avail but the whole experience was much better this time and i'm feeling really good now -- i haven't needed any BP meds all day and my bp is staying low at a nice 110/60. i'm pumping for now until i get reunited with him and so far just a little colostrum is coming but that's to be expected.

i'll upload pics soon, must try to get some rest right now while i can!
