Had baby girl 10/16/09

Hi, just wanted to let everyone know that our baby girl, Ava, was born yesterday afternoon! I had to get an induction at 38 weeks due to mild preeclampsia superimposed on chronic high BP. Ava weighed 6 lbs 1 oz and was 20 inches long. She had an Apgar score of 9, no problems with breathing, and seems to be nursing well so far. I had to receive mag sulfate after the delivery but did not experience a lot of the side effects that others have spoken about. My BP is still high, not surprisingly, so I will be speaking to the doctors here at the hospital about finally starting some medication. Hopefully Ava will continue to do well and mommy can get some treatment as well. Thanks to everyone here for your support throughout the later part of this pregnancy!
